SERVICES

ADULT DBT THERAPY

Our comprehensive DBT program for adults is for persons who are 18 years and up. This program includes; Individual DBT Therapy one time per week, 2-hour DBT skills training group one time per week, 24/7 phone coaching for the use of DBT skills in emergency situations. Additional services that might be implemented depending upon circumstances include; couples therapy, and or family therapy as needed. We request that all clients make a 6-month commitment to this program so that all 4 DBT modules are taught and learned. During individual therapy sessions clients will be led through a review of the diary card they have completed during the week, as well as a chain analysis and solution analysis for ineffective behavioral responses.
Clients will be provided with a nonjudgmental environment to discuss difficult topics and validation for use of effective behaviors and their practice of the skills. DBT therapists typically will not do a great deal of reflection on the past unless it is relevant to current ineffective thought patterns or behaviors. Trauma therapy can be implemented into DBT therapy after a client has shown resolution of any safety concerns. Clients will be requested to complete homework from skills training groups and ask any clarifying questions during individual sessions or group. Groups are not process oriented. Groups are educational and focused on the here and now, not on the past. Participants may be redirected to individual therapists for in depth issues that come up and are not appropriate for group.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Our Clinicians offer a wide variety of Individual therapy services based upon your needs. In initial phone assessment it will be determined what your needs might be and who would be a good fit for you as a therapist based on those needs. From there the client and the therapist complete a full assessment and use a variety of modalities that are specific to the client’s needs. We have different experiences from Mood disorders like Depression and Anxiety, to Substance Abuse disorders and Eating disorders. Some therapists are trained in Prolonged Exposure therapy and will use this to treat PTSD.

COUPLES & FAMILY THERAPY

Our clinicians take great pride in working with the family as a unit and looking at all members of the family as someone who brings positive attributes to the relationship and we will work with all members of the family to highlight everyone’s strengths, as well as recognizing ineffective patterns of interaction that interfere with the relationship’s success. Couples and Families alike can expect all therapists to be fair and to provide feedback and support that helps strengthen the family bond.

At times therapists will give Couples and Families homework assignments to practice changing how they interact with each other through the week. The goals of therapy will be identified in the beginning of therapy and then worked on throughout therapy.
Clients are encouraged to be open and honest in therapy sessions to gain maximum support. People come to therapy for couples and family therapy to strength the bond in the relationship, this can be a recovery from: addiction, behavioral dysregulation, infidelity, difficulty with parenting, difficulty with fertility, strained relationships, difficulty in communicating with each other in an effective way, adjustments in life such as a baby, new job, move, caring for an elderly parent, etc. There is really no topic that is too small for family or couples therapy if the relationship is strained.
